Community Guidelines

Our community is built on empathy, respect, and mutual support. These guidelines help us maintain a safe space for everyone navigating their breast cancer journey.

Last updated: March 2026

1

Purpose & Mission

Little C's community features exist to connect breast cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers in a safe, supportive environment. Our community spaces — including support groups, direct messages, and public profiles — are designed to foster:

  • Peer support and encouragement during the cancer care journey
  • Sharing of personal experiences and emotional support
  • Connection with others who understand your situation
  • A sense of belonging and reduced isolation

These guidelines apply to all community interactions within Little C, including support group posts, replies, direct messages, and public profile content.

2

Health Content Rules

Because our community involves health-related discussions, we have specific rules about health content:

  • Do not provide medical advice. Sharing your personal experience is welcome ("This is what worked for me"), but telling others what they should do medically ("You should take X medication") is not permitted.
  • Always encourage consulting healthcare providers. If someone asks about treatments, medications, or symptoms, remind them to discuss with their oncologist or care team.
  • Do not promote unproven treatments, miracle cures, or alternative medicine as replacements for conventional cancer treatment.
  • Do not sell, advertise, or promote health products, supplements, or services.
  • Do not share others' medical information without their explicit consent.
  • Be cautious when sharing clinical trial information — always link to official sources and recommend professional consultation.

Remember: Little C is not a medical device and community discussions are not medical advice. Always consult your healthcare team for medical decisions.

3

Respectful Communication

Treat every community member with dignity and respect. Our community members are navigating one of the most challenging experiences of their lives.

  • Be kind, empathetic, and supportive in all interactions.
  • Respect differences in treatment choices, coping strategies, and personal beliefs.
  • Avoid judgment about how someone chooses to manage their diagnosis or care journey.
  • Use inclusive language and be mindful that everyone's experience is different.
  • Disagree respectfully. You can share different perspectives without being dismissive or hostile.
  • Be patient with new members who may be newly diagnosed and overwhelmed.
4

Privacy & Confidentiality

Respect the privacy of all community members:

  • Do not share other members' personal information, health details, or stories outside of Little C without their explicit permission.
  • Do not screenshot, copy, or distribute private conversations or group discussions.
  • Use your display name rather than full name if you prefer privacy.
  • Do not attempt to identify or locate other members in real life without their consent.
  • Be mindful that what you share in the community may be visible to other members — only share what you're comfortable with.
  • Moderators and admins are also bound by these confidentiality expectations.

Your community profile visibility is controlled in Settings. You can make your profile visible or hidden at any time.

5

Prohibited Content

The following content is not permitted in any community space:

  • Harassment, bullying, intimidation, or threats of any kind
  • Hate speech, discrimination, or content targeting individuals based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic
  • Spam, advertising, or commercial solicitation
  • Misinformation or deliberately misleading health information
  • Graphic or disturbing medical images without content warnings
  • Personally identifiable information of others (doxxing)
  • Sexually explicit or inappropriate content
  • Content promoting self-harm or dangerous behaviors
  • Impersonation of healthcare providers, medical professionals, or other users
  • Automated posting, bots, or artificial engagement
6

Reporting & Enforcement

If you encounter content that violates these guidelines, please report it using the report button (flag icon) available on posts and replies. Reports are reviewed by our team and handled confidentially.

When you submit a report, you can specify the reason: - Inappropriate content - Medical misinformation - Harassment or bullying - Spam - Unsolicited medical advice - Other (with description)

We review all reports and may take the following actions: - Issuing a warning to the user - Removing the reported content - Temporarily suspending community access - Permanently removing a user from community features

We aim to review all reports within 48 hours. Urgent safety concerns may be escalated immediately.

False or malicious reporting may itself result in enforcement action.

7

Group Moderator Responsibilities

Support group moderators and admins play a vital role in maintaining safe spaces. Moderators are expected to:

  • Lead by example in following these Community Guidelines
  • Foster inclusive, welcoming group environments
  • Address guideline violations promptly and fairly
  • Maintain confidentiality about reports and moderation actions
  • Escalate serious concerns to the Little C team
  • Not use their role for personal gain or to exercise authority unfairly

If you have concerns about a moderator's conduct, please contact us at support@littlec.health.

These guidelines are in addition to any custom rules set by individual group moderators. Both apply to all group members.
